Logic Pro Users: Download These 6 Free Mixing Templates Today!
Feb 24, 2025Tired of starting every mix from scratch?
If you spend too much time setting up tracks, loading plugins, and organizing your session, I’ve got something that’ll change your game.
I created six free mixing templates for Logic Pro to help you mix faster, stay organized, and get pro-level results—without the hassle.
In this guide, I’ll break down each template, show you how to install them, explain how to customize them, and reveal exciting updates coming in 2025.
Let’s dive in.
How to Install the Templates in Logic Pro
Before we go through each template, here’s how to install them:
- Download the templates at subphotic.com/logic.
- Locate your templates folder:
- Open Finder and go to Macintosh HD → Users → Your Name → Music → Audio Music Apps → Project Templates.
- Copy and paste the downloaded templates into this folder.
- Open Logic Pro, and boom—your templates are now installed and ready to go.
What’s Inside? A Breakdown of the 6 Free Logic Pro Templates
Here’s what you get:
1. Analog Templates (Analog 1 & 2)
These templates are built for that classic, warm analog sound.
- Analog 1 includes UAD plugins to emulate a real mixing console—perfect for old-school mixing.
- Analog 2 takes it further with even more analog-modeled processing.
If you love vintage tones and thick, rich mixes, these templates will be your go-to.
2. Hardware Template
Got outboard gear? This template helps you integrate external hardware into your mixes.
Use it with preamps, EQs, compressors, tape machines—whatever gear you have to add analog warmth and depth.

3. Clean Template (My Personal Favorite)
This template is all about mixing with intention rather than relying on plugins.
- No preloaded effects—just a clean slate.
- Encourages you to think critically about what your mix actually needs.
- Also doubles as a recording template (zero latency when tracking vocals).
If you want a streamlined, less-is-more approach, this is the one.
4. Digital Template
This template is packed with modern, high-quality plugins for a polished, professional sound.
I use this one a lot when I want a clean, powerful mix without the analog-style coloration.
5. Stock Plugins Template
If you don’t own third-party plugins, you can still get pro results with Logic’s built-in tools.
Logic Pro 11’s stock plugins are powerful, and this template proves you don’t need expensive add-ons to make great-sounding music.
💡 Pro tip: Many paid plugins (like FabFilter Pro-Q or TrackSpacer) save time rather than offering something impossible with stock plugins. You already have everything you need inside Logic.
How to Customize Your Templates
If you find yourself adding the same tracks and plugins every time you start a mix, it’s time to personalize your templates.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open a blank template (start with the Subphotic Clean template).
- Add your most-used tracks, buses, and plugins (but don’t add any audio).
- Go to File → Save as Template and give it a custom name (e.g., “Your Name - Go-To Mix”).
Now, every time you start a session, your setup is ready to go—no more wasted time.
What’s Coming Next? Future Updates for These Templates
I’m constantly refining these templates, and here’s what’s planned for 2025:
✅ Simplified Versions – Four core templates:
- Clean (Minimalist approach)
- Stock Plugins (100% Logic tools)
- Digital (My go-to plugin chain)
- Hardware (For external gear users)
✅ Refined Send Effects – More intuitive routing for a smoother workflow.
✅ Templates for Ableton Live & FL Studio – Expanding beyond Logic Pro!
✅ Logic Pro 10 Compatibility – Creating a version for older Logic users so more producers can benefit.
I’m currently testing the oldest possible Logic 10 version on my iMac to make sure it works across multiple versions.
